IPX1 & IPX2 Dripping Water Test Apparatus with Touch Screen - Floor Standing
Dripping Water Ingress Protection Testing System
Sensotech Instruments Inc. manufactures a precision-engineered IPX1 & IPX2 Dripping Water Test Apparatus designed for evaluating the protection capability of electrical and electronic product enclosures against vertically dripping water according to IEC 60529 ingress protection testing standards. The apparatus is specially developed for conducting IPX1 and IPX2 water ingress tests to verify the enclosure protection level of products against water dripping under controlled testing conditions. In the IPX1 test, the specimen is subjected to vertically falling water drops simulating normal dripping water conditions, while the IPX2 test evaluates product protection when the enclosure is tilted at specified angles during water dripping exposure. The system is designed as a floor-standing testing unit equipped with touch screen HMI and PLC-based automatic controls for accurate, repeatable, and user-friendly operation. The apparatus includes a precision drip box arrangement manufactured with uniformly distributed water drip nozzles to ensure consistent water flow and standardized testing conditions. A motorized specimen platform with adjustable tilt arrangement is provided for performing IPX2 inclination testing as per standard requirements. The equipment features digital flow control, programmable test timing, automatic water circulation, stainless steel construction, and precision-controlled drip rate systems for reliable testing performance. Advanced models are available with automatic lift mechanisms, programmable testing cycles, water filtration systems, and touch screen operation for enhanced automation and operational efficiency. The IPX1 & IPX2 Dripping Water Test Apparatus is widely used in electrical industries, electronics manufacturing, lighting industries, automotive industries, appliance testing laboratories, research laboratories, certification agencies, and quality assurance departments for ingress protection verification and compliance testing.
Sustainable Water Recycling in Testing
During testing, water droplets fall onto the specimen and collect in a tank below. A circulation motor continuously pumps water from the lower tank back to the upper drip box, enabling water recycling throughout the process. The addition of a pneumatic drainage feature of the drip box allows for easy maintenance by discharging residual water, preventing scale formation and extending the drip tester’s lifetime.

IPX1 Testing
IPX1 & IPX2 Tests-in-one | Intuitive HMI
Sensotech Instruments Inc. advanced waterproof testing equipment is equipped with a premium 304 stainless steel turntable. It supports precise eccentricity settings when mounting the specimen and variable speed rotation (forward and reverse or alternate) to meet rigorous Ingress Protection (IP) testing standards. The turntable maintains a horizontal position for IPX1 drip tests and adjusts to a 15° tilt for IPX2 testing. The turntable height is adjustable to allow the distance between the drip needles and the specimen’s upper surface to achieve a maximum testing height of 200 cm.
The machine is configured with a PLC and 7-inch touch screen HMI for intuitive and fully automatic operation. Users can easily select the desired IP rating and set testing parameters directly from the touch screen interface. Once the test starts, the machine performs all operations automatically. Real-time testing parameters are continuously displayed during operation, and after completion, the system automatically stops the test and activates an alarm indication.

IPX1/2 Testing Conditions
| IP Code | Water flow rate | Water pressure | Water temperature | Exposure time | Dripping distance |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| IPX1 | 1±0.5 mm/min | - |
Should not differ by more than 5°C
from the DUT temperature.
If the water temperature is more than 5°C below the temperature of the DUT, a pressure balance should be provided for the enclosure (IEC 60529), or measures should be agreed upon between the users of the standard (ISO 20653 & DIN 40050-9). |
10 min | The vertical distance from the water outlet to the top of the DUT: 200 mm |
| IPX2 | 3±0.5 mm/min | - | 2.5 min for each position of tilt |
